From the intricate workwear embroidery of your logo that you wear with pride to the assembly of your toolkits that are truly built to last. The women of Leach’s are an incredible force whose passion for health & safety and knowledge of scaffolding, has continued to cement Leach’s as a reliable partner for height safety and scaffolding supplies for thousands of customers across the U.K. and worldwide.

In [1]2022, reports revealed that only a dozen qualified female scaffolders were working across the U.K. However, between April and June of 2023, women made up a record-breaking [2]15.8% of the construction workforce. This was the highest percentage ever recorded.

As we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay on March 8th, we celebrate the women in construction, the women in scaffolding, and the women of Leach’s. To mark such a significant day, we’ve decided to introduce you to some of our female team members, to showcase their talents and hard work, making them such an asset to our workplace.

Say hello to some of our Team!

Introducing Anna

U.K Sales Executive

Hi, I’m Anna and I’ve worked for Leach’s for 8 years. I work in our Sales Department as a U.K Sales Executive, speaking to many of our customers through email or phone…so if you recognise my name, that’s probably why!

I’m involved in creating and following up on quotes, processing orders, monitoring pricing, and managing any important changes and updates with the team.

My day-to-day is busy with balancing work-life and parenting, but it is very rewarding, especially getting to know customers and maintaining our relationship. That’s probably my favourite part of the job, as well as working with my colleagues.

Introducing Chez

Tool Assembly Assistant

Hello, my name’s Chez and I’ve worked at Leach’s for 8 years as a Tool Assembly Assistant. I’m responsible for assembling tool kits and helmets, and making tools up so that they’re ready for the warehouse.

I originally did this job at home. Initially, I was making stock, unpacking stock, and bagging and tethering tools. Then COVID hit, and things changed, I could no longer take stock out of the warehouse for infection control reasons. The team started to slowly come back into the warehouse, and I was asked if I would consider working here instead of at home.

From there things have grown out of all my expectations. The business has increased significantly, and so has my workload with it. With each year that passes I increase my knowledge of components, tools, and goods within the warehouse, and have taken on more responsibility within the team (However, there is still a lot to learn!). I embrace the checking of each part of a process as I can then say with confidence that we may have played a small part in keeping a scaffolder safe.

My day-to-day is unpredictable – no two days are the same! But I guess that’s what I like about Leach’s. What I like most is the people that I get to work alongside.

Introducing Megan

Sales Executive

Hi, I’m Megan and I have worked at Leach’s for almost 4.5 years now, and what a journey it has been!

I started as a Sales Administrator and have held quite a few roles since (some of you might even recognise me as your Account Manager). Currently, I work as part of our PPE & Workwear team as a Sales Executive, but I will be moving to support our Marketing department imminently – which I very much look forward to!

At the moment my day-to-day is so varied, I could be pricing up a huge PPE tender in the morning and creating visuals, coming up with TikTok ideas in the afternoon (look out for those ;)) and generally supporting the team with new or existing inquiries.

The thing that I love most about working at Leach’s, aside from the customers, of course, are the people here. I think that is what sets us apart. We do have a great team, many of them I class as friends and not just colleagues – and one is actually my Fiancé! It just makes it such an enjoyable place to be.

I also greatly admire our stance on height safety, working for a company that genuinely puts the customer first means that you can wholeheartedly trust that you are doing the best that you can for them too. And getting to see project pictures is icing on the cake!

We love seeing the work that you do – we wouldn’t be here without our amazing customers.

Introducing Leanne

Sole Credit Controller/Sales Ledger

Hello! My name is Leanne, and I’ve worked at Leach’s for about five years now. I am a Sole Credit Controller/Sales Ledger on the accounts team.

My day-to-day is very busy, some days nonstop, but that’s something I quite like. I’m responsible for chasing payments, managing credit accounts, releasing orders, answering any account queries, and much more.

The one thing I love about being part of Leach’s is the family-feel atmosphere here. It makes it an enjoyable, motivating environment to work.

Introducing Laura

Marketing Coordinator

Hi there! My name is Laura, and I joined Leach’s in June 2024—so I’m still quite new! I work as a Marketing Coordinator in the marketing department.

My day-to-day is busy. From brainstorming fresh ideas, creating engaging content including videos, and staying ahead of industry trends, to writing website blogs and LinkedIn newsletters, creating email campaigns, and delving into scaffolding research. I also connect with our audience by answering customer questions in DMs or in our comments. I enjoy keeping Leach’s social media full of regular, useful posts.

My previous Marketing role was in a completely different sector, so having joined scaffolding, I have learnt so much and truly appreciate the role scaffolders play – especially (as someone who failed maths at school) their mathematical planning!

I think in Marketing, it’s crucial to be passionate about the service you are selling and educating on, and I love the fact that, with Leach’s, we raise awareness of the health & safety aspects of scaffolding with many of our products developed solely to prevent injury and fatalities.

My favourite thing about working at Leach’s is that they actively encourage you to develop your skills, experiment, and learn. I really appreciate that.

Introducing Lizelle

Finance Administrator

Hey! I’m Lizelle, and I’ve been part of the Finance department at Leach’s for 1 year as a Finance Administrator.

In my role, I’m responsible for answering customer queries on accounts, invoices, purchase ledger invoices, and just general finance administration.

Although the finance team can be quite busy, I love working with the lovely people I get to call my colleagues. They all have the drive to do better each day, which makes it such a motivational environment to work in.
